In 2007 I travelled back and forth across Europe several times, covering almost all paths of the various historical Orient Express routes using modern trains that run over segments of the same historical routes. I found not only a transportation legacy but also a musical one, as the routes pass through some of the most renowned and diverse musical heartlands of Europe. Street music was to be found everywhere, and here are just a few short clips from my limited stopovers in various cities.
